Sure, touch is there, too.

Tom's Hardware Verdict

The MacBook Pro with PROLED XDR display has the best laptop screen I've ever seen, and other changes like reducing weight and moving from the notch to the Dynamic Island add to an excellent, albeit very pricey, machine.

Reasons to buy

    Gorgeous tandem OLED screen

  • +

    Noticeably lighter than existing model

  • +

    Strong performance

  • +

    Excellent speakers with deep bass

  • +

Dynamic Island is far more useful than notch

Reasons to avoid

  • -

    Very expensive

  • -

    Still no Face ID

Why you can trust Tom's Hardware Our expert reviewers spend hours testing and comparing products and services so you can choose the best for you. Find out more about how we test.

Apple's fans know all about waiting. The company tends to polish features, especially in hardware, that some other laptop vendors release faster. The MacBook Pro with PROLED XDR Display ends the wait for two long-requested elements: OLED and touch, both on the platform for the very first time.

That comes at a price. The 16-inch version we have on review starts at $3,399 and is $7,899 as configured. 14-inch systems start at $2,899. Those are $400 bumps over the existing MacBook Pros with identical chips, making the OLED panel a pricey upgrade.

    Useless and stupid design.

For a Touch screen Laptop , you should make the screen lie flat on table . 180 rotation. so you can use the touch screen properly . or 360 2 in one laptop. ..

More over OLED is bad , keep the mini led.

Apple perfected their IPS displays so why switch for the pandering OLED?
And touch screen? Who needs that?

I thought I'll never say that, but ... I miss Steve.

This is why I cant buy Apple. You get screwed and have no alternative.

Meanwhile you can get 16' Windows laptops with 3k OLED screens, 1tb ssd, 16 gb RAM, touchscreens, more than powerful enough Intel Ultra X7 CPU, B390 graphics for $1000 right now at Best Buy.

You can make excuses for Apple but to me its just getting suckered.
